At the center of field operations, installation standards, and client relations at Cornerstone Roofing & Home Improvements is Co-Owner Steve Hammond. Serving homeowners across Highland, Davisburg, and surrounding Southeast Michigan communities, Steve brings a lifetime of dedicated roofing experience to every job site. Steve has literally spent his whole life immersed in the roofing trade, mastering every aspect of residential roof construction, structural diagnostics, weatherproofing, and home exterior upgrades through decades of direct, hands-on field experience.
Steve’s core technical expertise encompasses "all things roofing"—from complete tear-offs and full roof replacements to complex leak repairs, ventilation optimization, flashing integration, and preventative maintenance. He understands the extreme weather conditions Michigan homes face, from freezing ice dams in the winter to severe summer storms. Because a roof is a home’s primary line of defense, Steve applies rigorous installation standards to ensure every system is engineered for maximum durability, structural stability, and long-term curb appeal.
Over Two Decades of Local Heritage, Top Certifications, and Direct Owner Oversight
For over two decades, Cornerstone Roofing & Home Improvements has established itself as the premier roofing contractor in the Highland area. Steve leads the company alongside a commitment to total quality control and personal accountability. Unlike many high-volume contractors who hand off jobs to third-party crews, Steve operates on a strict principle: dealing directly with the owners on every project with zero use of subcontractors. This guarantees that every roof installed meets Steve’s exact personal standards from start to finish.
Under Steve’s guidance, Cornerstone Roofing & Home Improvements maintains top-tier industry certifications from North America's leading roofing material manufacturers, including CertainTeed, GAF, and Owens Corning. These prestigious manufacturer credentials allow Steve to provide clients with elite factory-backed warranties, high-grade materials, and modern installation techniques. Understanding that roofing emergencies require immediate action, Steve ensures his team is available 24/7 for emergency service calls, with next-day availability for urgent roof repairs.
Family Roots in Davisburg and Deep Community Connections
Outside of supervising roof installations and managing job sites, Steve’s life is deeply rooted in family and local community. Married for 11 years, Steve lives in Davisburg with his wife, their 11-year-old daughter, and their 6-year-old son. Steve is a devoted husband and father who loves spending as much free time as possible with his family, whether participating in local neighborhood activities or enjoying outdoor family outings across Oakland County.
Steve’s identity as a family man directly influences how he runs his business. He views every client not as a job number, but as a neighbor whose family deserves a safe, dry, and secure home. His combination of lifelong trade mastery, top manufacturer certifications, and direct owner involvement ensures that Cornerstone Roofing & Home Improvements remains a trusted, family-operated authority across the region.
